How late does my flight have to be?

Three hours or more at your final destination for flights up to 3,500 km, and four hours for longer flights. Long-haul flights that land between three and four hours late are compensated at a reduced €300.

How far back can I claim?

In most countries we operate in, three years. Some national laws allow longer. Because checking is free, it's always worth submitting an older flight rather than assuming it has expired.

I flew with a low-cost airline on a cheap ticket. Does that matter?

Not at all. The regulation ignores the fare you paid. Ryanair and Wizz Air passengers are entitled to exactly the same €250 to €600 as anyone on a flag carrier.

What if the airline blames the weather?

Weather is a valid defence only if it genuinely made your specific flight unsafe. We check historical weather and air traffic data for that airport and time slot, and a surprising number of these claims turn out to be perfectly winnable.

What do I actually have to do?

Fill in the flight details, sign the authorisation with your finger or mouse, and that's it. Everything after that is our job.

Why do you need a power of attorney?

Airlines will only negotiate with the passenger or an authorised representative. The digital authorisation lets us claim in your name. It covers this claim only and you can withdraw it at any time.

Can I claim for my family or colleagues?

Yes. Add every passenger from the booking in the same form. Each one needs to sign their own authorisation, and each receives their own compensation.

What exactly does FlyClaim cost?

35% of the compensation we recover, deducted from the payout. If legal action becomes necessary, a further 15% applies to cover litigation. If we recover nothing, you pay nothing.

How and when do I receive the money?

By bank transfer to the account you nominate, usually within three to five working days of the airline paying us. We'll email you the moment the funds arrive.

Compensation is set in euro. We can transfer in euro or convert to your local currency at the interbank rate on the day of transfer, whichever suits you.
